India, August 29, 2025: After years in the corporate world, where colleagues constantly juggled between office formals and casual weekend wear, Amit Johri recognized a gap for Gen Z fashion taste. Determined to bridge it, he founded BarelyStylish, an Indian fashion label that has now launched its online store, designed for professionals aged 18–45 who seek versatile and trendy clothing that fits every part of their busy lives.

A Decade in the Making

Amit Johri spent nearly a decade working across IT GCCs—moving from shop floors to delivery desks to high-stakes boardrooms. In that time, he noticed a gap in the way Gen Z approached fashion. Young Gen Z professionals wanted clothes that complied with HR guidelines yet still made a statement in client meetings—all while staying comfortable through long commutes. Meanwhile, students looked for affordable, durable pieces that could survive hostel life without compromising their confidence in class.

“Office attire should make work life easier, not harder. BarelyStylish isn’t just about designing casual clothes—it’s about mirroring how young professionals live, travel, and work today,” says Amit.

What started as casual conversations in hostels and office cafeterias has grown into a brand with purpose. From its early roots in Rohilkhand Fabrics (2013) to the rise of BarelyStylish, the journey has always carried a clear vision: to design versatile fashion for a generation juggling multiple roles in modern India.

Clothes That Match Real Life

BarelyStylish designs around the actual situations its customers face daily:

For Students: Oversized hoodies and cotton t-shirts that survive shared washing machines and look good in lecture halls. These pieces focus on durability and easy care, all are important when you’re managing tight budgets and busy schedules.
For Working Professionals: Polos and crew necks that work in air-conditioned offices and crowded metro stations. The goal is clothing that maintains its shape and appearance throughout long workdays.

For Frequent Travelers: Comfortable pieces designed for India’s growing airport culture. These clothes pack well, resist wrinkles, and help people feel put-together during travel.

Building on the Indian Experience

Every BarelyStylish piece is proudly crafted under the Make in India vision—celebrating Indian design, skill, and craftsmanship while meeting global standards of quality. Rooted in the Make in India movement, BarelyStylish empowers local artisans and manufacturers, proving that Indian fashion can stand shoulder to shoulder with global athleisure giants.

Rather going behind designs by international brands, BarelyStylish studies what works globally and adapts it for Indian lifestyles. The fabrics are chosen for India’s climate, and the designs consider how people actually dress here, from college campuses to corporate offices to domestic airports. BarelyStylish is more than just another clothing brand entering the market. It’s an attempt to create fashion that actually fits how young Indians live today.
